When did the Pricks start making music together?
We started in 2004,2005
Are you guys all Southern California natives?
Yes we are From Long Beach
The Pricks won the KROQ Locals Only show, talk a little about that and how that has helped you guys out?
We entered a contest that KROQ was hosting ..winner gets to play the home depot center ..theres was a few thousands bands that entered.. so we emailed one of our songs called don’t want to be used .. and got a response back immediately from KAT Corbet .. who ask if she could play the song now ..so of course we said yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss……… later that week we where told that we had won that contest they where hosting …. so we got to play the L.A invasion show … so from then on out kroq started playing are song on Sunday nights with KAT Corbet on her locals only show.. so from there it really started growing ..pricks started coming out from everywhere … at that same time we where playing shows like crazy … so it was the perfect timing for us ….. PRICKS DON’T DIE WE MULTIPLY !!
The Pricks have gone from being just a band to being more of a movement with a loyal cult following… please talk about how that happened and where you plan on taking the Pricks in the future?
it all started with the message we are pushing ..the message of hope and we can get by anything together, so we started to see some brothers and sisters start tattooing are logo THE SKELETON MAN on themselves .. so we felt it is are duty’s to keep the brother hood alive by putting out messages threw are social sites and the music … with that being said the pricks has turned into a BRAND not just BAND …. the brand has grown to be bigger then the band at this time for the simple fact that people think of the pricks as a lifestyle….. we are all pricks some just don’t know it yet ….. the brand is growing at a rapid pace … in the future we plan on taking the pricks as a band as a brand to the your local stores… with creative branding ..long live THE SKELETON MAN!!
Whats the craziest tour story you guys got?
We played a show in Newport don’t remember the name of the place but it was a surf driven show ..for one of the bands Buddy’s who was battling cancer.. so we went out there and poured out all hearts for the show… we had a pricks chick jump off the stage land and brake her collar bone …so we stoped playing and when she was on the floor being attended to she stuck her hand stuck her middle finger out and said PRICKSFORLIFE!!!!
The Pricks seem to be heavily influenced by the tattoo culture where do you guys get inked, favorite tattoo
artists?
yeah that’s crazy how that all happened ..THE SKELETON MAN became a fan favorite .. brothers and sisters from all over the world started tattooing that on them… to many TATTOO artists out there to have a favorite.. we do have have a lot of respect for the tattoo community.. think there all a bunch of pricks ;-)
When can fans expect to hear new Pricks music, and see the Pricks live on stage?
we just dropped a record in august records called P4L… Tito is doing a solo record called THE MESSAGE ..
that’s the beauty of THE PRICKS .. that we all can do solo projects and still call it The Pricks …
we will start playing shows in the begining of the year to focus on that record that being produced now… so we should be ready to go tour in 2013 …THE MESSAGE P4L!
In the past you’ve collaborated with some big names in the industry like B-Real, are there any new artists that will be collaborating with the Pricks on the new record?
we got some cool songs with a few other artist for the future
we just don’t do music with anybody ..we like to make sure there is a message attached to everything we do..
THE MESSAGE has some good musicians artits on there ..we got a sick song with one of my brothers from THE PSYCHO REALM ..SICK JACKEN …
You’ve recently teamed up with Fatal clothing to do some collab artwork… how has that experience been? Were you guys fans of the brand before working together?
I’ve really enjoyed the process of working with fatal really nice guys and even better artist over there … MARK and myself had talked about doing something together …. so one day he emailed me saying that he had something he wanted to show me …. he drew up something that i thought was so dope i had to be down with it … with that being said the whole FATAL FAMILY is all good humble solid men… that’s more inportant to me then anything for this to work well. that has to be number 1…. i had seen the brand around and thought the art work was really done well so yeah we where fans …
